about the treatment

EMS is a highly effective full-body electric muscle stimulation training. It has been used for decades in physiotherapy and utilises the low and mid frequency of the electric-currents to significantly increase the body’s natural muscle contractions. As a result, more muscle fibres are activated when compared to conventional training methods. Only two 20-minutes sessions a week will help you achieve a stronger, leaner and more toned body.

EMS allows us to activate muscles, which is almost impossible to activate through normal training, and this enables us to create significant, visual changes to our body – fast and efficiently.

You wear a special suit during your training, which delivers electrical pulses that stimulate muscle contraction through electrodes to the skin surface above the muscles. The impulses cause the muscles to contract, which are similar to the body’s natural stimulus transductions – just much stronger. One session takes only 20 minutes and is led by one of our EMS certified trainers, who controls and adjusts the intensity of the impulses. Our EMS trainer guides you through the workout, and will adjust the training to your personal needs and preferences.

Who is it for?

EMS is Suitable for people of all age groups and fitness levels
EMS training is for everyone who seeks a stronger, leaner and more toned body. The fact that there is no joint overload makes the workout great for rehabilitation after injuries and post-operations, or if you suffer from joint pain.

FAQ

In short, EMS activates 300+ muscles (over 90% of the muscles fibres) at the same time during your 20-minute workout. This also includes deep muscles which are difficult to target at the conventional gym. Moreover, EMS training comprises of irregular muscle fibre simulation which results in an increased muscle fibre creation at a faster rate, allowing you to gain more muscles. All in all, you will see faster results!

A 20-minute session equates to approx. 3 hours of conventional exercise according to various scientific studies. During a single training session EMS activates the whole muscular system of the body.

In just 25 minutes EMS stimulates up to 10 muscle groups with agonist, antagonist and deeper lying muscles around 150 times in 4 second intervals. As the training is very intensive, we advise max. 2 sessions per week.

The short answer is no it doesn’t, at very high levels it can get a bit uncomfortable, but not painful.

You are trained by an educated EMS instructor, that will make sure to guide you –  under controlled and safe conditions.

Training and therapy using EMS is not dangerous. During your EMS training, you will experience small low-frequency currents contracting your muscles. Hence, the impulses do not seem foreign to your body and do not reach the organs.

No. The low-frequency impulse exclusively activates the striated skeletal muscles, meaning it does not reach the organs or the heart.

EMS training has been used for years by health and wellness professionals. Physiotherapists use EMS for joint-sparing muscle formation and for targeted back exercises. Elite athletes use this equipment along with their training to improve strength and speed. Personal trainers, gyms and beauty centres use this technology focusing on the fitness and beauty enhancements it offers which includes simulation of metabolism, tightening of connective tissue, cellulite reduction, body shaping, and more.

No. EMS technology was first invented in 1902 and has been used for years in physiotherapy. At One Thirty Labs we use the latest technology by XBody.

Within the first few sessions, you will notice better posture and muscle tightening. You will notice visible results including weight loss and body shaping with continued use of EMS training within the first 10 sessions.

YES! EMS training has two main parts. The first is weight loss visible through the inches you will lose at the waist, hips, etc. while the second comprises of burning those fat deposits!

To maintain your figure and stay fit you will need to stay active. One way to do that is through regular EMS training and to adopt an active lifestyle.

EMS is suitable for anyone between 18-70 at all fitness levels, including post pregnancy. However, if you have any pre-existing conditions and illnesses, please consult your doctor before you start your EMS training program. In case of an acute febrile disease or if you are wearing a cardiac pacemaker you cannot exercise with EMS.
